Polaniec Power Plant

Polaniec Power Plant, currently GDF Suez Energy Polska S.A., is one of the largest such facilities in Poland, located in the village of Zawada, near Połaniec. The power plant consists of eight power blocks with 225 MW of the total power of 1800 MW gross. Annually it produces approx. 9 TWh of electricity.

In the course of the transport of carbon to block using belt conveyors extremely flammable carbon dust is created. Overheating of rollers, as a result of friction bearings or roller conveyors, can result in ignition of the carbon and air mixture.

Monitoring of temperatures of bearings of belt conveyors in area threatened with dust or gases explosion by means of linear temperature measurement - DTS (Distributed Temperature Sensing).

Panel monitoring DTS based on neuron BMS Server is used in the power plant.

The basic task of monitoring interface was to allow operators to quickly and accurately locate the components of the conveyor, which began to overheat.

The problem was solved using the appropriate preset location function, automatically synchronising of extremes of function with component physical location.
